One city just prohibited brand brand new gas that is natural to truly save our planet. Could Philly follow suit?

The war on gas is escalating.

Berkeley, Calif., the Bay region town understood for its modern politics, has prohibited the usage of gas generally in most new structures. Environmentalists state this is the city that is first enact this kind of prohibition. San Jose, bay area, and a large number of other Ca municipalities are reported to be considering comparable bans in the battle against worldwide warming.

The unanimous vote by the Berkeley City Council could be a harbinger of a more substantial change in a few states to push US customers far from gas, a cleaner-burning fossil fuel which have helped reduce carbon emissions by displacing coal in electric-power generation. But environment advocates state the large-scale change to fuel is slowing along the transition to renewable power, and threatens to undermine carbon-free power that is nuclear.
